Fall is in full-swing here in Indy and we're loving every minute of it! We've got a lot going on around here, so we thought it would be a good idea to provide a news outlet. We will not be having church on the Sunday after Thanksgiving, Christmas Day, and New Years Day.

COMMUNITY Becoming Family

God Providing a Community

While searching for a church to attend, a young man who recently moved to Indianapolis for school began to see God provide in a very unique way. After doing the research and finding a few churches online, he was set on visiting them one-by-one. Then it happened. While talking with a few former classmates he learned that they were now attending a church that they described as being "a new home" and "like family". They expressed their desire for him to find a church family like they had, and committed to pray for him in this process. Then they told him the name of their new church, and to his surprise it was "Antioch Community Church". That was the name of one of the churches on his list to visit! The fact that his friends had found a home at an Antioch, although it was in another state, seemed like a confirmation to visit. He visited the very next Sunday and found himself expressing the same things, as he truly felt welcomed and loved by everyone he met. He has since joined a LifeGroup and continues to press into his new church family.

Financial Provision & Equipping

A young lady that has attended church for several weeks now was having some issues keeping up with bills and needed help paying rent. Her LifeGroup not only rallied around her and helped her pay rent, they sat down with her shortly after and helped her with building a budget! The hearts of the people in the LifeGroup reflected Jesus, as they wanted to help with both the immediate need and equip her for the journey ahead.

Last week was the fifth and final week of the marriage equipping class that Steve and Linda Znachko have offered to the married couples in our church. We are especially thankful for the vulnerability of Steve and Linda, which has lead to some deep discussions in which they have so graciously shared their experiences and lessons learned. This has been huge for the couples in our church, as we have all been challenged to have the needed discussions, listen to and love our spouses, intentionally address the "hard" areas, and see the hope that unity in Christ brings.

Couples have truly grown closer together and families truly strengthened. Husbands have learned to listen to their wives hearts. Wives have been equipped to honor and love their husbands. Couples have learned to look into their lives and ask the questions that need to be asked. We have all learned what it means to invest into our marriages, and run our race as victors, in the midst of all that life has to offer.

Although this class has just come to an end, the effects will carry on in the marriages for years to come. Thank you Steve and Linda!

Pray for our Nation

  • Pray for a move of God in the hearts of the people in this nation.

  • Pray for a peaceful transition of leadership in all areas of government, and that our nation would continue to come together and not divide.

  • Psalm 2:8 "Ask of me, and I will make the nations your heritage, and the ends of the earth your possession."

  • Pray that those currently involved would be refreshed as they give their lives to living in God's Church.

  • Pray for those stepping in for the first time. That they would truly be knit into God's Family, and that they find community to be a home and a safe place to learn how to follow Jesus.

  • Acts 2:42-47 "And they devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers. And awe came upon every soul, and many wonders and signs were being done through the apostles. And all who believed were together and had all things in common. And they were selling their possessions and belongings and distributing the proceeds to all, as any had need. And day by day, attending the temple together and breaking bread in their homes, they received their food with glad and generous hearts, praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to their number day by day those who were being saved."

PRAY FOR OUR Serve Teams

  • Pray that those serving would be refreshed and envisioned for loving and serving God's people and the people of this world.

  • Pray that people would join the serve teams and "share the load" of making Sunday mornings happen.

  • John 13:35 "By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another."
