The Discipleship Accelerator is a 12-week course to grow in enjoying and following Jesus and helping others do the same.

When you finish the Accelerator, our aim is that you experience these three goals: 1. That you are enjoying and following Jesus personally, in a way that spills over into all your relationships. 2. That you are leading a discipleship group - helping others enjoy and follow Jesus. 3. That you are in a LifeGroup - enjoying and following Jesus alongside others.

FAQ

  • It is for anyone who wants to grow in enjoying and following Jesus and in helping others do the same! Our hope is that everyone at Antioch Indy does the Accelerator at some point.

  • The Accelerator is not a certification process or membership process; it is built to train and equip you in enjoying and following Jesus and helping others do the same. We have 3 main goals for you when you finish the Accelerator. 1. That you are enjoying and following Jesus personally, in a way that spills over into all your relationships. 2. That you are leading a discipleship group - helping others enjoy and follow Jesus. 3. That you are in a LifeGroup - enjoying and following Jesus alongside others.

  • $0. Everyone is responsible for their own materials (Threads book by Kirk Freeman, note taking supplies, etc.) and whatever lifestyle necessities (i.e. childcare) that are required to participate in the Accelerator.

  • No. We feel it is best to allow each family to make the accommodations that work best for their unique situation.

  • Each participant is responsible to read Threads: Weaving Disciple Making into the Fabric of Your Life by Kirk Freeman by the time the accelerator begins and to practice what we talk about each week by following through on steps the Lord leads you to take.

  • This is not required but is highly recommended. One of our pastors would love to talk with you more if you plan on doing the Accelerator without your spouse. 

  • That is up to you. Some LifeGroups may decide to do the Accelerator together, some people may decide to stay in LifeGroup while doing the Accelerator, and others may decide to step out of LifeGroup for the duration of the Accelerator and then jump back in or start a new group when the Accelerator is over.

  • Everyone is expected to be at every class. Since we only have 12 classes together, it is very important that you participate in all of them. If you think you may miss more than one class please consider doing the Accelerator at another time. If you miss more than (2) while doing the class, we will ask you to do one of the following Accelerators.
